中石化苗栗廠傳工安意外 檢修員遭煤炭掩埋亡
中石化苗栗頭份廠區今天(1日)發生工安意外，一名人氣產品排行榜檢修員在檢修煤炭輸送機時，遭輸送帶上的煤炭掩埋，經搶救脫困時已無生命跡象，送醫不治，事故原因仍待進一步調查。
苗栗縣消防局指出，下午1時45分接獲報案，位於頭份市的中石化廠區發生工人遭煤炭掩埋意外，立即派救護人車及器材車趕往救援，到場時，發現一名工人受困距離地面約15公尺的運送管道間內，遭煤炭掩埋。
消防局表示，據中石化廠區人員描述，因煤倉內的煤炭輸送機故障，30歲蕭姓檢修員在約15公尺高的運送管道間內檢修輸送帶時，不慎被輸送帶上的煤炭掩埋。
為協助傷者脫困，消防隊請廠區人員以乙炔切割機切開鋼板，並架設滑輪組，以籃式擔架將蕭男由高處送至地面，但當時已呈OHCA(到院前心肺功能停止)，隨即由救護車送往為恭醫院搶救，仍宣告不治。
事發後，中石化主管代表公司慰問家屬，允諾提供必要協助，同時啟動內部調查，希望釐清事發原因。（中央社）
NBA╱灰熊小前鋒位置 渡邊雄太有機會
灰熊隊的季前訓練營出現大量日本媒體，原因無他，就是因為簽下雙向合約的日本籍前鋒渡邊雄太。他並非主力，甚至大部分時間都只會在發展聯盟，也因此成為灰狼隊的另類焦點。
事實上，從媒體、到訓練營、再到現在的熱身賽階段，大批日本媒體貼身報導渡邊雄太，球團甚至為此開放日媒專區，讓曼菲斯當地媒體紛紛感到嘖嘖稱奇。
灰熊隊菜鳥傑克森（Jaren Jackson Jr）就說：「渡邊雄太的手機一直會瘋狂跳出通知訊息，實在很誇張，他真的受到非常非常多的關注。」渡邊雄太則說：「我從不知道原來在曼菲斯有這麼多日本人，很感謝他們的支持。」
渡邊雄太過去就讀喬治華盛頓大學，防守能力備受肯定，符合灰熊隊希望補強的方向。不過由於他目前是雙向合約球員的身分，新球季應該多數時間會待在發展聯盟為主。
不過，灰熊隊小前鋒位置上存在很大變數，高薪的帕森斯（Chandler Parsons）健康狀況有很大隱憂，且他合約也僅剩最後兩年，剛加入的卡斯比（Omri Casspi）也是拿一年短約，渡邊雄太若發展順利，不無機會擠進灰熊隊的未來藍圖。
渡邊雄太過去就曾表示，「我不希望因為自己日本人身分而成為NBA球員，而是希望以籃球實力成為NBA球員。」
